Building a sound identity
Signària is a research project developing a personalised synthetic voice designed so that deaf signing people can participate in radio and audiovisual content with their own voice. By integrating voice synthesis models, the system generates a sound representation that respects the identity of the signing person.

Driven by We Are Mortensen S.L., in collaboration with Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Signària explores the intersection between AI, linguistic identity and accessibility. The project has been supported by the Ràdio Oberta programme of the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA).
